The uses of intra-oral digital scanners have been rapidly increasing since 1980`s thanks to the fast and continuous technologic advances and system upgrades. A lot of companies continue to manufacture and enhance intra-oral digital scanners with different features.The first commercial CAD / CAM system, CEREC, manufactured in 1987. In Turkey, the use of CAD / CAM system started for the first time in 2003, by obtaining three-dimensional images with intra-oral digital scanners. In the last five years, there has been a rapid increase in the number of users and digital dentistry has started to take place in the student education programs of some universities in our country, as in many countries.
